Goodbye PixelExplosion

June 28, 2017

For a while now, I have been debating whether I should continue to update and maintain my YouTube channel PixelExplosion or if it is time to move on to other projects. I feel that now is the time for me to make that decision.

I have chosen to move on to do other work.

However, this decision, as I already mentioned, has been a long time coming. I have not been particually happy with the format of video I ended up producing and, while I initially had some quite consistantly amazing viewing figures, this has gradually stopped, leaving me with a fraction of the views I once recieved. This also means that I am no longer making any money from my videos which, as I currently make no money from any other stuff I create online, further pushes me to want to pursue other projects.

But despite this decition, I by no means intend to stop producing videos. For the last few months I have been working on a completely new series currently under the working title “Knowledge Bomb”. In fact, I first teased this on Twitter in January.

I have some people lined up to help work on the production which, for the moment, I can only describe as “showing you why everything you know is wrong”. It’s actually quite exciting.

So that is why I shall be stopping work on PixelExplosion in the coming week(s). I may produce one or two more videos, maybe even a farewell one, but after that, I shall be making no more top 5/10 gaming videos, at least in the foreseeable future. Eventually I may return to that channel but not yet.

So, for now, I am saying goodbye to PixelExplosion.

It’s been a wild 4 years.
